Devilish Thoughts
What motivates Satan? Does he want the glory? Or is it the evil that matters most? And what might cheer him up when he’s flagging?
Here’s a comic with some possible answers, about the devil and his drinking buddy - because sometimes even Satan needs a pep talk, even if it is from the other team. I’m picturing it as the sort of bar where the hero of a romantic film goes when he’s temporarily lost the girl and some random scruffy character actor guy tries to cheer him up. From Clarence in “It’s a Wonderful Life” to “Wings of Desire”, angels do tend to get played as down-at-heel men in scruffy suits, so I thought I’d keep that up.

Interesting. I always thought Satan wanted to be God. And then, upon learning that the position was already filled, started a "sour grapes" smear campaign. Maybe wanting the glory is the evil that matters most?
I reckon Satan probably went through various stages...wanting to be god....being bitter about not being god...then getting over it and going for the "evil be thou my good" route when he realised that all the chicks preferred him. Except Mary Magdalen, but everyone knows she's a big ho.
